A desire path is a path created as a result of erosion caused by foot or bicycle traffic.
The path usually represents the shortest route between an origin and destination. Desire paths emerge as shortcuts where paved ways take a circuitous route, have gaps, or are non-existent.
Having a map of such shortcuts helps us keep track of missing links and advocate for better cycling and walking network in the city. Help us to maintain it by suggesting those that are missing. Just click on a map where you think a shortcut needs to be and send us a comment!
